I was so excited to find what seemed to be a quality bookcase for a good price after my old one unexpectedly collapsed. So excited that, in fact, I ordered two. The packages arrived in good time but they were a little beat and torn. Assembly is easy enough, even for one person, but the veneer of this case, though pretty, scratches at the drop of a hat! Keep a Sharpie or furniture touch-up kit nearby because you WILL scratch the veneer while assembling, no matter how careful you are. The veneer is paper-thin. I've put together all sorts of furniture by myself and I've never run across a problem like this before. I'm sure it will continue with books, binders, and whatnot. The only reason I am recommending this case is because if you're crafty (i.e. you might like to repaint/refinish the case), or if you don't mind touchups, this is a good deal - just know what you're getting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The box came quite damaged but somehow all the pieces were there. I was disappointed that it seems to be all particle board with a chunk taken out of a piece no less. The back is just cardboard that you tack on so that is of poor quality too. If you are looking for cheap furniture that looks ok, it does the job.
When I saw the clearance price and picture on the website, I thought I was getting a great deal...not so much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
